VOLCANO / LAKE NATRON

OI Doinyo Lengai (“Mountain of God” in Maasai language) is an active volcano and the only one in the world that emits a type of carbonatite lava called natrocarbonatite, which rapidly solidifies. It’s last eruption was in 2007 and at the volcano's peak you can always view hot steam vents.

The volcano’s neighbor is Lake Natron, a 60km-long alkaline lake, known to be the only breeding place of lesser flamingos in Tanzania.

Both places offer such unique natural wonders that the experience will be unforgettable; they have an otherworldly beauty that gives an incomparable feeling of expanse and antiquity.
