On November 12, 2009, the Ol Mesera Foundation was established in the Netherlands. The purpose of the foundation is offering help to the people of Tanzania and, more specific, to those who live in the neighbourhood of Ol Mesera Tented Camp. You can, for instance, think of developing health care, sufficient and clean water, hygiene and education.

The year 2010 will be used to determine, in consultation with the local people, which projects we want to work on together. Projects can only have a future if local people are, at least partly, responsible themselves.

Most people are Maasai, they have lost much of their cattle in 2009 because of the great drought. Storing water for dry periods will by any means be of great importance.
