Ngorongoro Crater – the largest natural zoo - is the largest caldera (volcanic crater) in the world! It’s located at 2,286 m. above sea level and its amphitheater-like floor is 20 km wide. The crater is home to more than 25,000 large mammals: zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, lions, gazelles, hartebeests, warthogs, elephants, elands, hyenas, jackals, etc. The pink blanket surrounding the lake is formed by many, many flamingos. And while observing a prehistoric black rhino, you will feel overwhelmed by all this flora and fauna ‘in a nutshell’.
